HOSE KING NIPPLES

What is Hose king Nipple ?.

King nipples are tubular hose nipples that fit straight-end hoses. The threaded end of all versions (except "jump size") has an NPT male  thread the same size as the hose shaft.

In piping and piping construction, a nipple is a fitting consisting of a short  pipe, usually  with external threads at both ends, for connecting two other fittings.

The length of the nipple is usually determined by the overall length of the threading.

They may have a hexagonal section in the middle for gripping with a wrench  (sometimes called a "hex nipple"), or they may simply be made from a short piece of pipe (a "barrel nipple" or "barrel nipple") ).

A "tight nipple" has no unthreaded areas. When screwing between two internally threaded connections, very little of the nipple is exposed.

A closed nipple can only be unscrewed by grasping one threaded end with a pipe wrench. If the threads become damaged and  the nipple needs to be replaced, or  a special tool called a nipple wrench (or  internal pipe wrench) is used to hold the threads inside the pipe and prevent damage to the threads.

Those of  different sizes are called reducers or unequal nipples. Threads used for nipples are BSP, BSPT, NPT, NPSM, and metric.

What are hose nipples used for?  A nipple is a short piece of pipe  used as a fitting to connect pipes in plumbing applications.

Nipple fittings are made from a variety of materials, but stainless steel nipples are the most common due to their strength and durability.

King nipples are used in a variety of fluid applications. Made of 304 stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance. Combination nipples are recommended for low-pressure discharge and suction work of compatible fluids.

Not suitable for compressible products such as air or nitrogen larger than 1 1/4 inches.

What is the difference between nipple and coupling?

The main difference between  steel pipe nipples and steel pipe fittings is the type of threaded connection. Pipe nipples have threaded ends on one  or both  ends, and  pipe couplings have internally threaded ends.

These are used together with  hydraulic hose connectors to connect  the ends of hydraulic hoses to form a hose assembly.

The King Combination Nipple, also known as the KC Nipple, is a versatile hose coupling for transitioning from  hose to pipe, equipment, valves, or strainers.

These end connections are for low pressure fluid service only. NPT male thread is standard.

KC nipples are also available with grooved  or chamfered ends for welding. Coated steel prevents rust and weather effects. The hose attaches directly to the device and then slides onto the shaft, eliminating the need for a female swivel for permanent attachment.

Available in coated steel, mild steel, 304 and 316 stainless steel, brass, aluminum, nylon, and polypropylene Sizes range from 1/2 inch to 12 inches Not compatible with air or steam service

How do you measure a hose nipple?

Pipe nipples are measured from end to end, including the male threaded end. Pipe nipple sizes are available in a variety of pipe sizes or diameters and lengths. This means a 6" threaded pipe nipple has a 1/2" male thread cut on each end and an additional 5"  plain pipe in the middle.
